This week has been a bear, but at least work-wise, it's over. The Island takes the day off tomorrow to eat fishcakes on hot cross buns and to fly kites.
I'm pretty sure that if you went back in time 2000 years and explained these customs to the guy from Nazareth, he would scratch his woolly head and say, "What?"
And don't get me started on how we'd explain this to him... TweetJeebus said it best: couldn't they re-enact the whole 'taking care of the sick and feeding the hungry' bits instead?

- I'm originally from North America and I work in the travel industry. I started this blog when I was living in Baltic Europe and wanted to keep family and friends updated on my first pregnancy. I took maternity leave for a year, and came a little closer to figuring out what I want to be when I grow up - but alas, the job of "Katharine Hepburn" was taken. So after fifteen months of Stay-at-Home-Mom-hood, I returned to the workforce in January 2006. My husband and I have a daughter born in 2004 and a son born in 2006 (known on this blog as "Gigi" and "Halley" respectively). My company transferred me to a nice warm island in July 2006, where I get to spend the next three years (at least!) So why the name "Purple Scare"?
