I've had a song stuck in my head for most of the day. It's by one of those 70's Southern Rock bands that all sound the same so I don't know who it is. But the words are Oh won't you give me three steps, gimme three steps Mister, gimme three steps towards the door/Gimme three steps, gimme three steps Mister, and you'll never see me no more...
You see, she's done it. She took her first steps today. Tiny, mincing, little-bitty steps, just three of them. Thus begins her journey of a thousand miles. I am so proud I could burst.

- I'm originally from North America and I work in the travel industry. I started this blog when I was living in Baltic Europe and wanted to keep family and friends updated on my first pregnancy. I took maternity leave for a year, and came a little closer to figuring out what I want to be when I grow up - but alas, the job of "Katharine Hepburn" was taken. So after fifteen months of Stay-at-Home-Mom-hood, I returned to the workforce in January 2006. My husband and I have a daughter born in 2004 and a son born in 2006 (known on this blog as "Gigi" and "Halley" respectively). My company transferred me to a nice warm island in July 2006, where I get to spend the next three years (at least!) So why the name "Purple Scare"?
