In 40 minutes, I will be the mother of a three-year-old. WTF.
I wrote myself into a corner last winter. I mentioned this to a friend who is a professional freelancer. He said, 'Don't worry about it. Forget it and move on.'
So Part II of 'Requiem For a Furball' will have to wait.
I'm originally from North America and I work in the travel industry. I started this blog when I was living in Baltic Europe and wanted to keep family and friends updated on my first pregnancy. I took maternity leave for a year, and came a little closer to figuring out what I want to be when I grow up - but alas, the job of "Katharine Hepburn" was taken. So after fifteen months of Stay-at-Home-Mom-hood, I returned to the workforce in January 2006. My husband and I have a daughter born in 2004 and a son born in 2006 (known on this blog as "Gigi" and "Halley" respectively). My company transferred me to a nice warm island in July 2006, where I get to spend the next three years (at least!)
So why the name "Purple Scare"? Because when I created the blog, I was living behind the Rusted Iron Curtain, and I like the color purple more than red. Write me at purplescareblog@gmail.com.
